This page gives information about the methods used at SCSI to standardize packaging and labeling: Caterpillar Packaging and Shipping Guide: This document details the requirements that Caterpillar has for all packages that they process. Much of the terminology and standardization in this document are used by SCSI throughout working with customers. SCSI requires suppliers to put certain information on labels on packages we receive from them. Please use the following as an example: Each label should have:
Part Number (Optional
Description) It is also preferred to place only parts of the same part number in a single package (i.e., to avoid mixed packages) and to indicate whether a package is stackable or not. For packaging, we require that parts be sufficiently protected from damage and that packages be securely bound as outlined in the Caterpillar Packaging and Shipping Guide. |
